THE SHORT VERSION
We do not sell your data, and we never show ads inside Helel. Helel runs on a paid subscription, so your conversations don't have to become a product. Everything Helel remembers about you is listed in Settings, and you can delete any of it. Deleting a memory also removes what we derived from it.
We do advertise Helel on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. If you agree, we measure those ads as explained under Advertising measurement below. We never share your test answers, conversations or memories with advertisers.
1Who we are
Helel is operated by Strike Algo LLP, 32 Kinburn Street, London SE16 6DW, United Kingdom (company number OC445548). We are the controller of your personal data. For any privacy question, email hello@helel.ai.
2What we collect
We keep collection deliberately narrow. There are three sources:
Your personality test.
Your answers to the personality test and your preferences for tone and pacing. This shapes your companion from day one.
Conversation memory.
The things you tell Helel over time, and the short summaries Helel makes to stay consistent between sessions (names you mention, goals, topics you come back to). You can view and remove each one.
Integrations you choose.
If, and only if, you connect something (like a calendar), we access the minimum needed for that feature. Nothing is connected by default, and you can disconnect at any time.
We also process the basics needed to run an account: your email address, subscription status, and standard technical logs (device type, approximate region, error reports) that keep the service secure and working. If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message.
3Video and voice
During a live conversation, your camera and microphone stream is processed in real time by our provider Anam AI, so your companion can respond. Neither we nor Anam AI store recordings of your video or voice. What we keep is the conversation memory described above: short text notes that let Helel remember your past conversations. We do not use your face or voice to identify you.
4Sensitive informationExplicit consent
You may choose to tell Helel about your health, feelings or other personal matters, and this can become part of your conversation memory. The law treats this as sensitive data. We only save memories after you give explicit consent on the memory screen in the app. You can withdraw that consent at any time by turning memory off in Settings, and you can delete any or all of your memories.
5How we use your data
- To personalise your companion: its memory, tone and continuity between sessions.
- To provide the features you ask for, including any integrations you connect.
- To keep the service safe, fix problems and prevent abuse.
- To handle billing and send essential account messages.
- To reply when you contact us.
- If you agree, to measure which of our ads bring people to Helel and to understand how the website is used.
We do not use your conversations to target advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
6Legal bases
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, we rely on:
- Contract
- your account, subscription, billing and the features you use.

- your conversation memories and any sensitive information they contain.

- security logs, abuse prevention and replying to contact messages.

7Advertising measurementOnly with consent
We advertise Helel on Facebook and Instagram, and through Microsoft Advertising on Bing. Only if you accept advertising cookies, we use the Meta Pixel, the Meta Conversions API and the Microsoft UET tag to see which of our ads led people to visit helel.ai, sign up or subscribe. This shares limited data with Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., such as the helel.ai pages you visited and whether you created an account or started a subscription. We never send Meta your test answers, conversations, memories or messages. You can withdraw consent at any time in . See our Cookie Policy.
8What Helel is and isn't
Helel is an AI companion, not a medical, psychological or therapeutic service, and it is only for adults aged 18 and over. It doesn't diagnose, treat or provide crisis care. If you're in danger or need urgent help, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional. In Sweden, call 112 in an emergency or 90101 (Mind Självmordslinjen). In the UK, call 999 or Samaritans on 116 123. In the US, call or text 988.
If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will close it and delete their data.
9How long we keep your data
- Account and memories
- for as long as your account is active, so your companion stays continuous.
- Deleted memories
- removed immediately, together with anything derived from them.
- Deleted accounts
- removed from our active systems straight away, and from encrypted backups within 30 days.
- Contact messages
- 12 months.
- Technical logs

- as long as accounting law requires.
10Your rights and controls
See everything.
Every memory Helel holds is listed in Settings.
Delete anything.
Remove a single memory or all of them. Derived data goes with it.
Export.
Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format.
Correct, object or restrict.
Ask us to fix inaccurate data, or to stop or limit how we use it.
Withdraw consent.
Turn off memory or change your cookie choices at any time. This doesn't affect what we did before.
Leave completely.
Disconnect integrations and delete your account in one flow. See Data Requests for the steps.
Complain.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (imy.se), or the data protection authority where you live.
11Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers we need to run Helel. Each one acts on our instructions, handles your data under contract, and may not use it for its own purposes.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect people from serious harm.
12Where your data is stored
Your account data and conversation memories are stored with Supabase in India. We protect this transfer with the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Some of our providers are based outside the EU and UK, including in the United States. When your data is transferred there, we rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to it, or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
13Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to those who need it, and we design features to hold as little as possible. Our team does not read your conversations or memories, unless you ask us to for support or the law requires it. No system is perfect, but privacy is a first-order goal here.
